Dear Friends,

You are invited to a family get together on Father’s Day, Sunday June 20, 2021, 12:30 pm for socializing, 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm meal, at Back on the Boulevard, 2855 N Murray Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80917, cost $50 per person, $25 children 12 years old and younger. If you are not able to attend on June 20th, perhaps you are able to join us on Sunday July 11, 2021, same menu. Please RSVP by 6/15/21 by completing the registration form in the attachment.

What is a … Filipino “Boodle Fight” A “boodle fight”

hails back to Filipino military tradition that dispenses with cutlery and dishes. Diners practice kamayan, Filipino for “eating with the hands.”

The food is placed on top of a long banana leaf-lined trestle table and in the true military practice,diners do not sit in chairs, but instead stand shoulder to shoulder in a line on both sides of the table.

A senior officer or enlisted personnel then utters the traditional command for the boodle fight to begin: ”

Ready on the left, Ready on the right, Commence boodle fight!”

Traditional Menu

Vegetables: steamed bok choy, eggplant, okra, corn

Fruits: cut up cantaloupe, watermelon, ripe mango

Meat: Barbecue chicken wings, pork belly, egg roll

Seafood: Shrimp, fried cod Steamed rice or fried rice

Soda, tea, water included

Alcohol/Dessert cost extra
